Recap: Williamsville East Flames vs. Lancaster Legends
The Williamsville East Flames were the 57-52 winner over the Lancaster Legends when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Williamsville East was outmatched by Lancaster on the road and fell 63-24. Williamsville East was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-12.
Williamsville East's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Emily Wendt and Alex Kappel. Wendt scored 9 points, while Kappel scored 8 points.
Madison Francis went supernova for Lancaster, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 12 steals. McKenna Corcoran was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
Williamsville East's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Lancaster, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williamsville East will take on Williamsville South at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lancaster, they will be playing at home against Frewsburg at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Frewsburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Monday.
