Basketball Game Preview: Hillsborough Raiders vs. West Orange Mountaineers

The Hillsborough Raiders will head out to challenge the West Orange Mountaineers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Hillsborough beat Moorestown 75-64. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Meanwhile, West Orange entered their tilt with Mount St. Dominic Academy on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went their way against the Lions as they made off with a 49-27 win. The Mountaineers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Hillsborough better keep an eye on Anaya Karriem. She was instrumental in West Orange's win, dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. Karriem also grabbed six steals, which is notable because West Orange is 16-1 when she posts at least three steals, but 4-5 otherwise. Kyley Gary-Grayson was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Hillsborough pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for West Orange, their win bumped their record up to 20-6.
