Volleyball Recap: Crestview Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Crestview posted their closest win since August 19th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Paul Flyers, sneaking past 2-1. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Crestview had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-19.

Haley Mccoy paced Crestview's offense, picking up 12 kills. Mccoy got some help from Emily Lichtle and her 24 assists. Lichtle also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kaci Gregory, each putting up three.

When it comes to explaining why St. Paul lost, don't look at Bella Guerra. Despite the final result, she had seven digs and three aces.

Crestview is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for St. Paul, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Crestview has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Marion Local on the 27th. As for St. Paul, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Celina on the 27th.
