Baseball Recap: Tolleson Beats Mesa for Their Sixth Straight Win

Tolleson won against West Point on Thursday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Wolverines beat the Mesa Jackrabbits by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-1. Winning may never get old, but the Wolverines sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

JOSEPH GALVEZ looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on XAVIER MARTINEZ, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. FEDERICO IBARRA was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Tolleson pushed their record up to 17-9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Mesa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-22 record this season.

As of now, neither Tolleson nor Mesa have any future games scheduled.
