Basketball Recap: Anderson Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Trace Jallick and Toby Strausbaugh

Anderson was the 60-52 winner over Archbishop McNicholas when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Anderson Raptors took a 55-39 bruising from the Archbishop McNicholas Rockets on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Raptors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Rockets are ranked 221st).

Anderson's loss came despite strong showings from Toby Strausbaugh and Trace Jallick. Strausbaugh posted 13 points and eight rebounds, while Jallick had 13 points and five boards.

Charlie Clark was the offensive standout of the game as he earned 12 points. What's more, he also posted a 75% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024. Garrit Gunter was another key player, putting up seven points and six boards.

Anderson's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Archbishop McNicholas, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Coming up, Anderson is taking a road trip to face off against Goshen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Anderson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season. As for Archbishop McNicholas, they will challenge Roger Bacon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Archbishop McNicholas is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
