Baseball Game Preview: Whiteford Bobcats vs. Erie-Mason Eagles

The Whiteford Bobcats are taking a road trip to take on the Erie-Mason Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Erie-Mason took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Whiteford, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Whiteford made easy work of Britton Deerfield and carried off an 18-1 win. Considering the Bobcats have won nine contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Summerfield hit Erie-Mason with a four-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell 7-2 to the Bulldogs. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Whiteford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Erie-Mason, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Whiteford got the 'W' in their previous meeting two weeks ago against Erie-Mason by a conclusive 16-1 score. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
