Basketball Recap: Newark Catholic Takes a Loss

Newark Catholic's last matchup with Heath could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Green Wave lost 72-52 to the Bulldogs. The Green Wave were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-16.

Jordan Kaminsky was his usual excellent self, shooting 79% from the field en route to 29 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists for Heath. Kaminsky is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Braden Gibson, who posted six points along with five boards and five steals.

Newark Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Heath, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3.

Coming up, Newark Catholic will face off against Utica at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heath, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Briggs at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
