Basketball Game Preview: Rome Wolves vs. Lithia Springs Lions

The Rome Wolves will venture away from home to challenge the Lithia Springs Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rome will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Rome strolled past Kennesaw Mountain with points to spare, taking the game 70-53. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Mustangs are ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lithia Springs). They slipped by New Manchester 77-76 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Rome has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Lithia Springs, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Everything went Rome's way against Lithia Springs in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Rome made off with a 73-53 victory. In that match, Rome amassed a halftime lead of 45-22, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
