Basketball Recap: Conway Takes a Loss

Conway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-32 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marion Swamp Foxes. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Swamp Foxes from their previous meeting back in January.

Despite the loss, Conway still got an impressive performance from Surhei Brown, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 boards. Ahchiya Hill was another key player, putting up six points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Marion got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaeda Davis out in front who went 6 of 14 on her way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliyah Williams, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Conway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Marion, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Conway didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-28 loss against Carvers Bay on the 28th. As for Marion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-40 defeat against Loris on the 28th.
