Volleyball Recap: Mabank Comes Up Short

Mabank was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mount Vernon Tigers. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Mabank sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-23, 21-25, 15-13.

Mabank's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Mount Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mabank will face off against Scurry-Rosser at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mount Vernon, they will be playing at home against Como-Pickton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
