Soccer Game Preview: Martin vs. Palmview

The Martin Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Palmview Lobos at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Martin sitting on five straight wins and Palmview on 13.

Martin's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Roma by a score of 2-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Tigers were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palmview). Everything went their way against Roma on Tuesday as Palmview made off with an 8-0 victory. Given the Lobos' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Gladiators are ranked 734th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palmview's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those eight matchups. As for Martin, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8-2.
