Basketball Game Preview: High Plains Storm vs. Osceola Bulldogs

High Plains hasn't had much luck against Osceola recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The High Plains Storm will be playing in front of their home fans against the Osceola Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. High Plains will be strutting in after a victory while Osceola will be coming in after a loss.

High Plains took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 48-41 win over Bruning-Davenport/Shickley.

Meanwhile, in Friday's Canine Competition, Osceola had to take the L. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 55-54 to Shelby-Rising City.

High Plains will have to contain Kelby Neujahr as he made an impact in Osceola's last game. He went 7-for-16 en route to 21 points and seven rebounds. Neujahr has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 15 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Boston Hinkle, who posted 13 points and six boards.

High Plains' victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Osceola, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-10.

High Plains came up short against Osceola in their previous meeting back in January, falling 57-52. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Neujahr, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Now that High Plains knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
