Fairfield has gone a perfect 7-0 against Middletown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Middies at 6:00 p.m. Fairfield will be strutting in after a victory while Middletown will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, Fairfield was able to grind out a solid win over Chaminade Julienne Catholic, taking the game 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 22-25, 25-20, 25-14.

Mikee Lawson was the offensive standout of the match as she had seven digs and two aces.

Lawson wasn't the only good servers: Fairfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 23 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Middletown lost 3-0 to Sycamore on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Middies in their meetings with the Aviators: they've now lost eight in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-17, 25-11.

Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Fairfield, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Everything went Fairfield's way against Middletown in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Fairfield made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
