Baseball Recap: Cape Henry Collegiate Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Cape Henry Collegiate had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Great Bridge Wildcats 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Dolphins have posted since May 3, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Reid Downs, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Harley Matela, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Cape Henry Collegiate's record is now 2-4. As for Great Bridge, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Cape Henry Collegiate will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Norfolk Christian at 4:30 p.m. As for Great Bridge, they will take on Kellam at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
