Basketball Game Preview: Veritas Christian Academy Eagles vs. Silex Owls

Silex is hoping to do what Calvary Lutheran couldn't on Monday: put an end to Veritas Christian Academy's winning streak, which now stands at three games. It was close, but Veritas Christian Academy capped 2024 with a 47-44 win over Calvary Lutheran. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-5), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Veritas Christian Academy relied on the efforts of Lusajo Kasyupa, who posted 12 points and five rebounds, and Jake Markham, who had 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Titus Murrell, who put up six points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Silex played a tough game last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 78-31 loss at the hands of Van-Far. The Owls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-10.

Veritas Christian Academy pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Silex, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
