Baseball Game Preview: Spanish Fork Dons vs. Cedar Valley Aviators

Spanish Fork has gone a perfect 3-0 against Cedar Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Dons will welcome the Aviators at 3:30 p.m. Cedar Valley took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Spanish Fork, who comes in off a win.

Spanish Fork's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Emery by a score of 5-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dons.

The result came thanks to Tilden Scott's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Boston Duvall was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Nixon Warren, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Spanish Fork was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Cedar Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Spanish Fork, falling 9-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Aviators couldn't push the score so high this time.

Cedar Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Spanish Fork, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.

Everything went Spanish Fork's way against Cedar Valley when the teams last played on Tuesday, as Spanish Fork made off with a 9-2 victory. Will the Dons repeat their success, or do the Aviators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
