Basketball Game Preview: North Phoenix Preparatory Academy Gladiators vs. Tempe Prep Knights

The North Phoenix Preparatory Academy Gladiators will face off against the Tempe Prep Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, North Phoenix Preparatory Academy turned things around against Phoenix Day School for the Deaf on Friday. They breezed by the Roadrunners to the tune of 54-20. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-6.

Meanwhile, Tempe Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 59-50 win over the Falcons.

Tempe Prep pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.

North Phoenix Preparatory Academy came up short against Tempe Prep when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 48-37. Can North Phoenix Preparatory Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
