Football Game Preview: Mt. Gilead Indians vs. Colonel Crawford Eagles

Mt. Gilead is 0-5 against Colonel Crawford since August of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Indians will challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Colonel Crawford will be up against a hot Mt. Gilead squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Indians blew past Cardington-Lincoln, posting a 42-14 victory. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Pirates are ranked 598th) , the win last Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Colonel Crawford had no trouble coming through when it counted. They claimed a resounding 35-7 win over Eastern. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.

Colonel Crawford's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Mt. Gilead, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Mt. Gilead was taken down by Colonel Crawford 31-0 when the teams last played back in August of 2019. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
