Basketball Recap: Jayden Means' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lutheran over Cabrini

Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 58-40 to the Cabrini Monarchs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-49 back in December of 2024.

Lutheran lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jayden Means, who posted eight points. Means is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. John Vermeulen was another key player, putting up five points.

Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Cabrini, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Lutheran is taking a road trip to square off against Whitmore Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitmore Lake knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Lutheran likes a good challenge. As for Cabrini, they will welcome Novi Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
