Softball Recap: Valley Park Hawks vs. Van-Far Indians

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Charles West, Valley Park was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Van-Far Indians by a score of 10-6.

Adison Durbin made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Durbin was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Meghan Reinwald was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jenna Chitwood, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Valley Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Van-Far only hit five.

Valley Park's victory bumped their record up to 7-11-1. As for Van-Far, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-19.

As of now, neither Valley Park nor Van-Far have any future games scheduled.
