Softball Recap: Holmes Starts Season with Win Against North Pitt

Holmes gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 13-0 margin over the North Pitt Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Aces also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Mia Hoffer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harper Evans, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Coming up, Holmes will take on Gates County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Pitt, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-10 defeat against Southside on the 27th.
