Softball Recap: Kimball Union Academy Extends Winning Streak to Four

Kimball Union Academy waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Cushing Academy Penguins 10-2. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.

Adi Runge spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Kennedy FitzSimons was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Zoie Stevens, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Kimball Union Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Kimball Union Academy pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Cushing Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Kimball Union Academy will venture away from home to square off against Winchendon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cushing Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Westminster School at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
