Basketball Recap: Gray's Creek Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Gray's Creek extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-2. They lost 70-45 to the West Johnston Wildcats. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Gray's Creek still got an impressive performance from Quion Andrews, who went 7-for-17 on his way to 19 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Dawson, who posted five points and five rebounds.

As for West Johnston, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 4th (when they won 63-37).

West Johnston found their leader in sophomore Jacob Dyson, who shot 57% from the field en route to 23 points and six boards. Dyson is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 57% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Caden Hartman was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

Gray's Creek has already played their next contest, a 57-48 loss against South View on the 25th. As for West Johnston, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-61 defeat against Cleveland on the 25th.
