Basketball Recap: Raymond/South Bend Triumphs

Raymond/South Bend won against Wahkiakum last Wednesday with 71 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Raymond/South Bend Ravens came out on top against the Friday Harbor Wolverines by a score of 71-63. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ravens.

It was another big night for Chris Quintana, who went 10 of 21 on his way to 22 points and five assists. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernando Jimenez, who went 7 of 8 on his way to 15 points.

Friday Harbor's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pierce Kleine, who posted 21 points. Kleine has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times he's played. Whiley McCutcheon was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Raymond/South Bend's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Friday Harbor, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Raymond/South Bend wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-49 defeat against Hoquiam on the 28th. As for Friday Harbor, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-41 loss against Forks on the 28th.
