Basketball Recap: Gateway Comes Up Short

Gateway lost against Marin Academy back in November of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gators had to suffer through a 73-45 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Gateway lost, don't look at Zacharia Papadopulos. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-10 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Grundland-Lanuza, who posted six points.

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Marin Academy, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-1.

Gateway will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Stuart Hall at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Marin Academy, they will challenge Athenian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
