Basketball Recap: Gateway Takes a Loss

Gateway lost against Marin Academy back in November of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gators were dealt a 73-45 defeat at the hands of the Wildcats. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gateway lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Wyatt Grundland-Lanuza, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Zacharia Papadopulos, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Marin Academy, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-1.

Gateway will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Stuart Hall at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Marin Academy, they will challenge Athenian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
