Softball Recap: Hopewell Takes a Loss

After flying high against Beaver Falls on Wednesday, Hopewell came back down to earth. The Vikings came up short against the Mohawk Area Warriors on Friday, falling 16-5. The Vikings have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Victoria Mann made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, four RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Claire Sarkis also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Hopewell now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Mohawk Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hopewell will take on rival Quaker Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Mohawk Area is set to face off against their familiar foe Avonworth at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
