Football Game Preview: Clinton Arrows vs. Oxford Chargers + Official Tickets

Clinton is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Oxford is on a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Arrows will host the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Clinton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Starkville, who was ranked fifth at the time (Clinton was ranked 19th). The Arrows came up short against the Yellowjackets on Friday, falling 28-7. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, the Arrows couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Oxford won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Germantown 43-42.

Oxford found their leader in sophomore Demar Jamerson, who rushed for 131 yards and three TDs. Those three rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Jamerson. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Smith, who picked up 96 receiving yards and one score.

Oxford didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Germantown to a completion percentage of just 40%. The team can thank Kingston Gregory for the heroic effort on defense: he. Oxford wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 56%.

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Oxford, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
