Baseball Recap: Eagan Wildcats vs. Shakopee Sabers

Eagan lost against Shakopee back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats took a 17-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sabers. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brandon Lunneborg was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Theo King, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Eagan's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Shakopee, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Eagan is set to challenge their familiar foe Farmington at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Shakopee will face off against rival Lakeville South at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Sabers 3.1, the Cougars 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
