Soccer Game Preview: Standing Bear vs. Waverly

The Standing Bear Grizzlies will face off against the Waverly Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Standing Bear's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Standing Bear fell victim to Norris and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Waverly, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Lincoln Northwest 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Waverly were the better team in the second half.

Ava Amos and Ava Claussen scored both of Waverly's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Standing Bear's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Waverly, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
