Baseball Recap: Nouvel Catholic Central Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

Nouvel Catholic Central won the last time they faced Carrollton and things went their way on Monday too. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Cavaliers 6-5.

Cam Kaul made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Nouvel Catholic Central is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise. Kaul was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, John Carlson was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Owen Vance was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Nouvel Catholic Central has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Carrollton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.

As for Carrollton, they will face off against Montrose at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.18 runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
