Basketball Recap: Anna Reed's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jefferson Christian Academy over Mountain Mission

Jefferson Christian Academy was the 47-43 winner over Mountain Mission when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Jefferson Christian Academy Cardinals fell 45-35 to the Mountain Mission Challengers on Tuesday. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jefferson Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Reed, who went 5 for 11 en route to 12 points. Violet Wall was another key player, putting up six points and five steals.

Annah Chacha continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mountain Mission, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Chacha has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more boards the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gladness Peter, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 20 points.

Jefferson Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Mountain Mission, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson Christian Academy will welcome State Line HomeSchool R at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mountain Mission, they will host Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
