Basketball Recap: Isaac Murillo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Loving over Tatum

Loving was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tatum Coyotes. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Coyotes earlier this season, when they won 62-56.

Loving lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Isaac Murillo, who posted ten points and three steals. Those ten points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cameron Allen, who earned six points and eight rebounds.

Tatum's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Palacios, who went 8-for-13 to rack up 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kooper Kerby, who went 6-for-10 en route to 14 points and eight boards.

Loving's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Tatum, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 6-18.

Loving didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-43 loss against Hagerman on the 18th. As for Tatum, they have also already played their next contest, a 58-49 defeat against Eunice on the 18th.
