Laurens Central put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Sharon Springs Central Spartans 47-45. The Leopards have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Despite the loss, Sharon Springs Central saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sophia Insogna dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for Insogna. The team also got some help courtesy of Zarie Barbic, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Laurens Central's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Sharon Springs Central, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Laurens Central will head out to take on Franklin Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sharon Springs Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Richfield Springs Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
