Basketball Recap: Muncie Burris Takes a Loss

Muncie Burris was the 74-40 winner over Daleville when they last played one another back in December of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Muncie Burris Owls were dealt a 78-33 defeat at the hands of the Daleville Broncos on Saturday. The Owls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Owls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Isom, who posted six points. Brayden Martin also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Daleville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Suchyna, who went 9 for 17 on his way to 26 points and three steals. Suchyna is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Josh Wilson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 24 rebounds.

Muncie Burris' loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Daleville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.

Muncie Burris will be playing in front of their home fans against Anderson Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Anderson Prep Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.2 points per game this season. As for Daleville, they will venture away from home to face off against Randolph Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Daleville is facing Randolph Southern at the right time seeing as Randolph Southern is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
