T.R. Miller is 8-2 against Northview since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The T.R. Miller Tigers will challenge the Northview Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. T.R. Miller's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Northview's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, T.R. Miller didn't have quite enough to beat UMS-Wright Prep and fell 6-5.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Flomaton 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chiefs have posted since March 28, 2024.

Northview saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayden Sheffield, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Northview is undefeated when Sheffield posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Brady Smith also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Northview pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for T.R. Miller, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

T.R. Miller was able to grind out a solid victory over Northview in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for T.R. Miller since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
