Basketball Game Recap: Owasso Rams vs. Dale Pirates

On Thursday, the Owasso Rams faced the Dale Pirates in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Owasso narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Dale 60-57. The win was nothing new for Owasso as they're now sitting on five straight.

Owasso found their leader in underclassman Jalen Montonati, who scored 40 points. The game was Montonati's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Boden Williams, who scored four points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Owasso's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Dale, their loss dropped their record down to 13-2.

Owasso and Edmond North will face off at 8:30 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Edmond North's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Dale is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Jones at 7:45 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Jones will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Dale is ranked third).
