Basketball Recap: Dixon Falls to South Brunswick in First Game of Season

Dixon unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Brunswick Cougars on Friday. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 12-8 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Dixon still got an impressive performance from Noah Wright, who shot 47% from the field to rack up 24 points and four steals. Grady Adams was another key player, putting up eight points and five steals.

Jayden Daniels went supernova For South Brunswick., dropping a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Daniels a new career-high in shooting accuracy (88%). Another player making a difference was Jaxon Wallace, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 15 points.

Looking ahead, Dixon will square off against Lejeune at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Brunswick, they have already played their next contest, an 81-57 loss against North Brunswick on the 18th.
