Basketball Recap: Southside Takes a Loss

Southside and Chatham Central squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Southside had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Chatham Central Bears and fell 69-34. The Seahawks just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Karaleigh Dodson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds for Chatham Central. The game was Dodson's third in a row with at least 20 points. Chloe Scott was another key player, shooting 47% from the field on her way to 18 points.

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Chatham Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Southside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chatham Central, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-53 loss against Bear Grass Charter on the 28th.
