Recap: Central Cabarrus Vikings vs. West Rowan Falcons
The Central Cabarrus Vikings lost against the West Rowan Falcons back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Central Cabarrus was outmatched by West Rowan on the road and fell 84-34. Central Cabarrus has not had much luck with West Rowan recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jahnae Duncan, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Shelby Cruz was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Central Cabarrus' loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for West Rowan, the victory (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 19-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Cabarrus' road trip will continue as they head out to face Concord at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Central Cabarrus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. As for West Rowan, they will head out on the road to square off against Robinson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Robinson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
