Baseball Game Preview: Northland Prep Academy Spartans vs. Many Farms Lobos

The Northland Prep Academy Spartans will head out to square off against the Many Farms Lobos at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Tuesday, Northland Prep Academy made easy work of Valley and carried off a 14-2 win. Considering the Spartans have won three matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Blayden Cosper was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Northland Prep Academy's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Cosper was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Wyatt Massey was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Northland Prep Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 0-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Cary, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3.

Northland Prep Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Many Farms). They blew past Greyhills Academy 16-9 on Tuesday. The Lobos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by seven runs or more this season.

The victory got Northland Prep Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Many Farms, their win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.
