Soccer Game Preview: St. George's vs. Westfield School

The St. George's Athletes will venture away from home to challenge the Westfield School Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. George's has four straight victories, Westfield School has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

On Monday, St. George's was able to grind out a solid win over Heritage Preparatory, taking the game 3-1.

Meanwhile, Westfield School managed to keep up with Bulloch Academy until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Hornets lost 3-0 to the Gators.

St. George's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three games. As for Westfield School, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9-1.

St. George's came out on top in a nail-biter against Westfield School in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Athletes since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
