Meanwhile, Luverne waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 60-15. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Eagles are ranked 442nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Luverne's win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.4 points per game. As for Pike Liberal Arts, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-16.
