Basketball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Heartland Huskies 60-31. The Chargers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.

Riverside's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ella Molt, who posted two points along with nine rebounds and five steals, and Tessa Weltruski, who put up eight points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heartland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mia Hiebner, who earned 14 points and four steals. Hiebner has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariane Sololuze, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points and five steals.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Heartland, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.

Riverside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 37-36 loss against Heartland Lutheran on the 9th. As for Heartland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-34 victory against Fullerton on the 10th.
