Baseball Game Preview: Putnam City Pirates vs. Eisenhower Eagles

For the second straight game, Putnam City will face off against Eisenhower. The Pirates will face off against the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Having struggled with 15 defeats in a row, Putnam City turned things around against Eisenhower on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 2-1.

Connor Fast spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Putnam City's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Bennett, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Putnam City's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-12 and their overall record up to 3-27. As for Eisenhower, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.
