Football Recap: Bellevue East Comes Up Short

Bellevue East had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it seven. They took a blow against the Lincoln North Star Navigators, falling 42-7. The Chieftains lost against the Navigators in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 59-0 score last time.

Even if they lost, Bellevue East's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Lincoln North Star's QB won't forget Devon Smith anytime soon given he sacked him three times.

As for Lincoln North Star, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Considering they have won four games by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tyrell Chatman went supernova, throwing for 120 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 89 yards and one TD on only ten carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Louis Welstead also helped with two scores in total.

Bellevue East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincoln North Star, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 23-22 loss against Papillion-LaVista South on the 31st.
