Recap: Hurricane Redskins vs. Riverside Warriors

The Hurricane Redskins entered their tilt with the Riverside Warriors with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Hurricane claimed a resounding 44-7 victory over Riverside at home. Considering Hurricane has won four contests by more than 36 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacqai Long was his usual excellent self, throwing for 301 yards and five touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Terrell, who picked up 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Hurricane's win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 8-1 Cabell Midland and 7-2 Winfield (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 56.3% over those games). As for Riverside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Hurricane will face off against South Charleston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Charleston comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Riverside is on the road again on Friday and play against Lincoln County. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Lincoln County is ranked 67th, while Riverside is ranked 52nd).
