Softball Recap: Konawaena Takes a Loss

Konawaena fell victim to Hilo and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Hilo Vikings, falling 8-0. The Wildcats have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Leilani LeBrun-Ward spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits.

Konawaena's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hilo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Looking ahead, Konawaena will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Waiakea at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hilo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
