Basketball Recap: Delaney Wright Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Coal Ridge

Palisade's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Coal Ridge Titans by a score of 47-38. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won three in a row.

Palisade's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Delaney Wright led the charge by dropping a double-double with 12 points and 23 boards. The dominant performance gave Wright a new career-high in rebounds. Mady Bavor was another key player, going 6-for-14 en route to 14 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Coal Ridge lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brilee Jensen, who went 7-for-15 on her way to 16 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Reese Elder, who posted 12 points and five boards.

Palisade's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Coal Ridge, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-11.

Looking ahead, Palisade will head out to take on Grand Junction Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Coal Ridge, they will venture away from home to square off against Moffat County at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
