Volleyball Recap: Evan Sun's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Stagg over Waterford

The Stagg Delta Kings came up short against the Waterford Wildcats on Friday and fell 3-1. The Delta Kings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Stagg started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-19.

Stagg's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Sun, who had 17 kills, nine digs, and two aces. Sun has been hot, having posted six or more kills the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelo Lagrimas, who had nine digs, two aces, and one block.

Stagg's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Waterford, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Stagg has already played their next contest (against Tokay), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Waterford, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Gustine on the 18th.
